Julie Dawn Hasselbring, 59 of Watseka passed away on Thursday November 24, 2016 at her home. She was born on February 16, 1957 in Watseka the daughter of Walter Jr. "Duke" and Judith Johnston Hasselbring. Julie is survived by four brothers and sisters-in-laws: Walter III "Chip" and Angie Hasselbring, Robin and Lori Hasselbring, Skyler and Terri Hasselbring, and Kenton and RaDonna Hasselbring; seventeen nephews and nieces: Walter IV (Sunny), Jonathan (Jamie), Joseph, Robin Jr, Austin, Justin, Jacob, Jedediah, Josie, Heidi, Brittany Hasselbring and Kimra (Lucas), Paytonand Ayden Anderson; Uncle LeRoy and Aunt Mary Hasselbring; and all of Julie's close friends at The ARC and her sincere and special care givers at the Lincoln Ave CILA. Julie loved spending time with family and friends. Her personality was warm, caring, sincere, and left a positive uplifting influence on all around her. Julie felt no limitations and had a natural ability to communicate and express her feelings whether verbally, writing notes, or emailing. Sometimes simply the twinkle in her eyes, her warm smile, or just the look, was all it took to get her message across. Julie enjoyed art and was known for her painting ability. She was on a constant search for knowledge and spent hours googling service animals as well as handicap accessible learning institutions and living arrangements. Visitation will be on Monday November 28, 2016 from 4-7 pm at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka. Funeral services will be on Tuesday at 10:00 am at the Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka with Pastor Jerry Parker officiating. Burial will be in the G.A.R. Cemetery in Watseka.
