Juliana M. "Julie" Pelkey-Ballard, age 51, of Oscoda died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. She was born on Nov. 2, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minn. to Ted and Mildred Coggeshall (nee Hansen). Julie has resided in Oscoda for the past seven years having moved from Saginaw. She enjoyed living in the North and spending time outdoors gardening and riding motorcycles. Julie loved spending time with her family and friends. Her strong faith was evident by the way she lived her life. Julie knew no stranger and spent a majority of her time caring for others in any way she could. She was a member of the quilting club and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Julie is survived by her husband, Steve Ballard; four children, Tory (Josh) Wilkins of Hope, Kyleen Pelkey of Seattle, Wash., Bryce Ballard of Saginaw and Brandi (Jay) Workman of Wisconsin; father, Ted (Erma) Coggeshall of Texas; five brothers and sisters, Jim (Cindy) Mielke of Minnesota, Rick (Marilyn) Mielke of Minnesota, Janie (John) St. George of Minnesota, Gloria (Paul) Wheeler of Minnesota and Ted Coggeshall of Saginaw. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Alexis, Josh II, Payton and Logan; and her special companion, "Tug." Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Mildred Coggeshall; sister, Blanch Goebel and brother, Ed Mielke. A memorial mass was held on Monday, March 25 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Oscoda.
