We are gathered here today to remember the life and times of Julia Upkins, who left this world on August 31, 2025, at the age of 75. Julia was born on April 15, 1950, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to her loving parents Sam and Roberta Miles.

Julia married the love of her life, Robert Upkins, in the year 25, and together they raised four wonderful children: Hubert, Patrick, Catherine, and Charlene. She also leaves behind 10 adoring grandchildren.

Julia attended Capital High School where she excelled both academically and socially, but her true passion was her work at Earl K Long Memorial Hospital. She dedicated herself to helping others and made a lasting impact on all those she encountered.

Outside of work, Julia had a knack for Bingo and spent many evenings trying her luck and sharing laughs with friends. She had a special charm and wit that endeared her to all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

As we say our final goodbyes to Julia, let us remember the joy and laughter she brought into our lives. Rest in peace, dear Julia, and may your Bingo games in heaven be truly legendary.
