Juana L. CervantesFillmore, CAJuana L. Cervantes, 89 of Fillmore CA was granted her angel wings on April 30th, 2017 at Santa Paula Memorial Hospital.Juana was born on November 24th, 1927 to Benedicta Ortega and Pedro Lopez of Jamay Jalisco, Mexico.Her final days were spent peacefully, surrounded by family. Juana married the love of her life Jesus on April 15th, 1944 in Mexico and together they had 12 children.They knew they wanted a better life for their family which led to them migrating to Fillmore CA in 1958. Juana was a talented seamstress who loved sewing and made beautiful wedding gowns and bridesmaids dresses. In her later years she enjoyed knitting blankets and scarfs and gifting them to friends and family.Juana's family was her pride and joy and she loved watching her family grow. She was a dedicated and supportive wife and a very loving mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker who enjoyed family gatherings, especially feeding and entertaining family and friends.Juana was a generous and giving woman of faith. She is preceded in death by her sons Pete, David and Salvador Cervantes.She is survived by her husband of 74 years Jesus Cervantes, and children Margarita & Braulio Quezada of Atascadero; Rosario Cervantes of Fillmore; Maria Cervantes of Fillmore; Lupe and Ray Hoover of Fillmore; Gerald and Anna Cervantes of Fort Wayne, IN; Tony Cervantes of Bakersfield; Bertha and Henry Flores of Fillmore as well as 20 grandchildren and 23 great-grand children who will miss her dearly.A recitation of the rosary will be held on Friday May 5, 2017 at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 427 N. Oak Street, Santa Paula. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 am also at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Tom Dome, C.R.I.C. officiating.
