Juan De Jesus Leyba, 79, left to be with his Heavenly Father on Thursday, April 16, 2015. Jesus was born on Aug. 28, 1935, in Chacon to Jose Inocencio and Vivianita Leyba. After the passing of his mother, Jesus was raised by Porfirio and Candelaria Pacheco. In 1960 he was united in marriage to Consuelo Sanchez; they were blessed with six daughters. A lifelong resident of Chacon, Jesus loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. He greatly enjoyed being outdoors tending to his land and animals. He loved traveling with his family. Jesus was an awesome and caring dad, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend.He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Consuelo; brothers, Manuel and Eliseo Leyba; sister, Lucinda Gonzalez; in-laws, Onesimo and Eufelia Sanchez, Mabel and Juan Medina, Mary Sanchez, Henry Gonzales, Dennis Rivera, Adolfo Campos, Joe Gonzales, Levi Espinosa; son-in-law, Tommy Cruz; and nieces, June Salas and Janette Campos.He is survived by his daughters, Gloria Leyba (Nimrod Herrera), Rita Leyba (Kevin Turner; Pat Sanchez), Lorraine and Paul Martinez, Bernice and Gerald Alcon, Amy and Carl Essary and Laura and Travis Newton; grandchildren, TJ and Hannah Cruz, Teddy Cruz, Connie and Brandon Pruner, Patrick Sanchez and Shannon Silva, Jessica Sanchez, Jacklynn Sanchez, Joshua Martinez, Kayla Martinez, Cheryl Alcon, Charles Alcon, Jesse James Alcon, Janin Essary, Carl Don Essary, Mariah Essary, DeJesus Essary and Tesla Newton; great-grandchildren, Dreyes Sanchez, Alano Ochoa, Jeremiah Ochoa, Evangelina Ochoa, Juan Sanchez, Gabby Sanchez, Cruz Sanchez, Amora Sanchez, Liana Cruz, Tommy Choi Cruz, and Esteban Roybal; special nephew, Joseph Leyba; siblings, Juan Leyba (Mary Leyba); sister, Rosa Salas (Gilbert Salas); in-laws, Olivia Leyba, Jake Sanchez, Josefita Campos, Marcela Espinosa, Rosanna Gonzales, Elisa Rivera, Viola and Luis Garcia. Rosary/devotional services will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Friday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday at St. Gertrude's Church in Mora. Interment will follow at the San Antonio Cemetery in Chacon. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and granddaughters.Share condolences at
