Joyce A. OrrJoyce A. Orr, 83, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 6, 1933 to the late Roy and Martha Bedford. She married Richard E. Orr on October 4, 1952. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2015.Joyce graduated from Port Huron High School In 1950. The next year she received her cosmetology license. She worked for 32 years at Dunn Paper Company as an assistant to the Purchasing and Material Control Manager. Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Port Huron. One of Joyce's true accomplishments was serving the Marine Corps League Auxiliary as their 1969 National President, she established their national headquarters in Washington, D.C. during her term in office. Locally, she was a life member of the Belcher-Lane Auxiliary, she traveled all over the United States promoting the Marine Corps League Auxiliary. Joyce was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star, and was a past Mother Advisor and Advisory Board member of the International Order of Rainbow for Girls. She was also a past member of the American Business Women Association and volunteered at Port Huron Hospital.Joyce enjoyed traveling with her husband, where they traveled to all fifty states and parts of Europe. Her hobbies were ceramics, needle point, and china painting. She was an avid Hummel collector and attended several of their national conventions. In her younger years she loved bowling and going to state tournaments where she won several trophies. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.Joyce is survived by her two daughters, Deborah (Frederick) Jagow and LuAnn (Steven) Jones; her three grandchildren, Courtney and Zachary Jones, Amanda Jagow and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lloyd Bedford, Sr. and a sister, Jean Ferguson Elliott.Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Smith Family Funeral Home - North at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery.Memorials may be made to the , Blue Water Humane Society or the First United Methodist Church of Port Huron.
