Joyce N. Forsland Joyce died peacefully on Nov. 23, 2016, at age 84, from complications of Alzheimer's. Joyce was born on Dec. 2, 1931 in Flint, Michigan. She moved to Tacoma with her parents and graduated from Lincoln High School. She then graduated from WSC summa cum laude in education. She was a teacher, finishing her career in the Clover Park School District. She is survived by Chuck, her husband of over 60 years, two children, Bruce and Kay, and one sister. She had five grandchildren and loved and cherished all of these. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. In her retirement, she and Chuck enjoyed traveling to many parts of the world and US. She loved flowers, and always had a beautiful flower garden. She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle worker. It was her strong request that there be no memorial service for her. Her family is honoring that request, and held a private memorial, giving thanks that we had her in our lives for so long.
