Joyce Maxwell-Campbell, 83, of Davenport, Florida, passed on August 09, 2023. Joyce was born on June 08, 1940 in Knoxville, TN to Florence Hilary-Maxwell and George Leroy Maxwell. Joyce’s family moved to the Bronx, NY when she was six years old. Joyce was a strong, kind, generous & loving woman who was known for her dedication to her family.

Joyce’s affinity for education was apparent early and evident through the many accolades she received throughout her education. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School in June of 1957. Then went on to the college of New Rochelle to pursue her bachelors in Early Childhood Education, where she became a case worker for children who needed foster care.

Shortly thereafter she met and married Tommy Roy Campbell SR in 1959 (Preceded in death). Their union produced 5 children Rita M Madison (Ronald), Carl G Campbell (Wanda), Lisa Campbell, Diane J Campbell & Tommy Roy Campbell JR (Preceded in death). She was also a beloved grand mother to Safira Smaller (Darnell), Ronita Madison, Raioni Madison-Jones, Tommy Roy Campbell III, Kalani Carn, Camron Campbell, Keanan Campbell, & Caitlin Campbell. And, a loving great grandmother to Amariah, Cyrian, Cayanne, Zoe, Alysee, Averyon, Alicia, and Zakai. Additionally, she is survived by a host of In-Law nieces and nephews & friends.

Religion & Faith has also always been front & center in Joyce’s life at the Abyssinian Baptist Church, where she worshipped before moving to Florida.
