Joy Anita Nash Ayoola was born August 24th 1984 in Gary Indiana in the loving arms of Booker and the late Annette Nash. Her name fit her appropriately as she brought laughter and ‘Joy’ to every place she went and was always a bright light in the room.
Joy spent her formative years living in Gary, Indiana then moved to Omaha Nebraska where her love of people and interest in technology led her to attend Iowa State University majoring in Engineering. She went on to join the Peace Corps and spent time in Armenia after graduation. She was an expert mechanic, loved to hike, ride her bike and explore different parts of the country.
Joy moved on from this life December 14th 2024 and leaves to cherish her memory her father Booker Nash, two sisters; Melanie Nichols of Memphis, TN and Christy Nash of Omaha, NE; one nephew Christian, three nieces Zeaven, Morgane and Zoe and a host of cousins and friends.
Joy also leaves to cherish her memory the circle of friends that became family in Seattle Washington where she found her niche and zeal for life.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Joy’s name be sent to Active Minds an organization that champions for strong mental health. https://www.activeminds.org/
