Joseph Victor "Vic" Mahoney was born on Oct. 28,1951, in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, and passed away on Nov. 12, 2014. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph V. Mahoney Sr. & Frances K. Mahoney, and his brother Kevin H. Mahoney. Vic recently moved to Reading, Pennsylvania, after spending 14 years in Logan, Utah; prior to that, he lived in Lexington, Ohio, for nine years. Vic attended Waldron Academy, then Lower Merion High School, Wynnewood, Pennsylvania, graduating in 1969; he went on to attend Drexel University where he graduated in 1974 with a degree in accounting.Vic worked for Pepperidge Farm for over 40 years, starting in the Downingtown plant, then he went to the Willard, Ohio plant, then to the Richmond, Utah facility as plant manager and coming full circle as plant manager of the Denver, Pennsylvania facility. He loved his job; he thrived on challenges and there wasn't a challenge he wouldn't tackle. While in Utah, Vic served on the Logan Regional Hospital Board and the Cache County Chamber of Commerce. As plant manager, the Richmond facility was recognized as Plant of the Year several times; he also received a few community recognitions.Vic was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Mansfield, Ohio, (1991-1999) where he served on the Social Ministry Committee and the Finance Committee; and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Logan, Utah (2000-2013).Vic enjoyed the Philadelphia Eagles; Avalon, New Jersey; handguns; golf; dogs, especially Newfoundlands, Akitas and Vizslas; photography; technology and gadgets.Vic is survived by his wife of over 32 years, Joan Berlinger Mahoney, Reading, Pennsylvania; his daughter, Erin Marie Mahoney, Logan; and his beloved Newfoundlands, Avalon & Keevah.A memorial service to celebrate Vic's life will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014, at Huntingdon Valley Country Club in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania.
