Joseph SandersChambersburgJoseph B. Sanders, 85, passed away November 7, 2016 at Menno Haven Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his wife, Marian "Dot" (Coons) Sanders. He was born on December 17, 1930 in Hagerstown, MD to Clarence and Zelda (Bowen ) Sanders. Joe was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot after 20 plus years, where he had been a welder. He was a member of the VFW Post 1599, Amvets Post 224, Marine Corps #1339 and the American Legion Post 46. He enjoyed doing things with his family. He is survived by his five children, Cindy (wife of Bill) Snyder of Chambersburg, Dennis (husband of Beth) Sanders of Fairfield, Michael Sanders of Chambersburg, Kenneth (husband of Tina) Sanders of Chambersburg and Alan Sanders of Chambersburg. He has five grandchildren, Dinen Sanders, Karrie Sanders, Ben Trickett, Andrew Joseph Sanders, Tiffany (Nickey) Sanders; and one great-granddaughter, Ally Marie Byrne. He is also survived by a brother, Clarence Richard Sanders of New Port Richey, Fl; and a special friend, Kate Plum of Chambersburg. Funeral services will be Friday at 10 AM at the Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, Chambersburg, with the Rev. John Pogue officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.
