Joseph Butts, aged 57, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on January 12, 2025, exactly 57 years after he was born on January 12, 1968.

Joseph, known to his friends as "Joe", was a proud graduate of Smithsburg High School, class of 1986. He was a devoted husband to Lisa Long Butts, whom he married in 2011. He had three children: Zach, Summyr, and Brailey and stepdaughter Chera Vandruff .Joe was also a loving grandfather to four grandchildren Ethan,Zyler, Ophelia and Elainea.

His 2 pugs he adored Kenlee Rae and Maui.

Joe had many hobbies that brought him joy, including painting miniature soldiers and studying the history of Gettysburg, Antietam, and all Civil War battlefields. He could often be found lost in thought, deeply engrossed in a book about historical battles.

Joe will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for his family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
