OCEANSIDE, CA Dr. Joseph Patrick Leaser passed away February 23, 2014. He was born on April 17, 1933, to George and Mildred Leaser in Hazleton and he married Elizabeth Della Croce in 1956. Joseph graduated from Saint Gabriel's High School in 1950 and received a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 1954. A true renaissance man, he also earned an M.A. in social work from the University of Pennsylvania in 1962 and an M.D. from Pennsylvania State University in 1971. Joseph taught medicine at Pennsylvania State University, ran his own medical practice in Middletown, served as a medical director for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Pennsylvania, directed Villa Teresa and Fry Village nursing homes, and worked as a medical consultant for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Throughout his life, Joseph gave generously of his time and resources to everyone he met as well as a variety of charitable organizations. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; four children, Mark, Kathy, Terrance, and David; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Joseph is interred at Old Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside, Calif.
