Joseph FlynnAGE: 82 • HolmdelJoseph Flynn, 82, of Holmdel, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 6, 2017 at Madison Center in Old Bridge. Joseph was born on March 15, 1935 in Jersey City, where he grew up. On August 14, 1976, Joseph and his wife, Christine, were married at began their life together in Jersey City. In 1979, they moved to North Plainfield and 20 years ago, settled in Holmdel. As a teenager, Joseph began working for Western Union delivering telegrams, and into adulthood, stayed with the company in higher positions for 25 years. After working with Western Union, he continued his career with AT&T in their Security Department before retirement. He was predeceased by his parents, Bartholomew and Julia (Kane) Flynn. Joseph is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 41 years, Christine (Palumbo) Flynn, his dear sister-in-law, Paulette Palumbo, and his cherished cousin, William Smith. He will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. Family and friends are invited to visit on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from 3:00 to 7:00 PM and Thursday morning, November 9, 2017 from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 3269 State Highway/Route 35 North, Hazlet. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday morning, November 9th, 2017 at 10:00 AM at. St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Cemetery Mausoleum, 900 Holmdel Road, Holmdel.
