It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph Gainey Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Joseph peacefully left this world on July 5, 2023, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family. His kind heart, gentle soul, and unwavering love will forever be cherished in our memories.

Joseph was born on August 12, 1954, to Joseph Gainey Sr. and Sarah Gainey in Colorado Springs, where he spent the entirety of his life. He grew up in a warm and nurturing household and had a close bond with his parents and younger sister, Emily. Joseph's childhood was marked by curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, and a deep love for the outdoors that would stay with him throughout his life.

Joseph embarked on an esteemed academic journey, earning his bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Colorado, followed by a master's degree in Finance from Colorado State University. His unwavering dedication to his studies and his strong work ethic laid the foundation for a successful career, but Joseph's true passion lay in helping others.

With his charismatic personality and natural leadership abilities, Joseph excelled in his profession as a financial advisor. He established a stellar reputation within the industry, known for his exceptional knowledge, integrity, and commitment to his client's financial well-being. His guidance provided countless individuals and families with the tools they needed to pursue their dreams and build a secure future.

Outside of work, Joseph remained true to his love for nature and his adventurous spirit. He spent countless weekends exploring the beautiful landscapes of Colorado, whether it was hiking in the majestic Rocky Mountains, camping by the crystal-clear lakes, or skiing down the powdery slopes during the winter months. His passion for the great outdoors was infectious, often bringing friends and loved ones together to share in the joy of nature's wonders.

Joseph was a pillar of strength and support to his family. He married his high school sweetheart, Elizabeth Wilson, in 1978, and together they raised three wonderful children: Katherine, David, and Emily. Joseph was an involved and loving father who took pride in guiding his children's growth and fostering their individual talents.

As a grandfather, Joseph found pure joy in the company of his grandchildren, Hannah, Christopher, and Ava. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was sharing stories, going on adventures, or simply offering a warm embrace. Joseph's grandchildren were the lights of his life, and his love for them knew no bounds.

Joseph's kindness, compassion, and philanthropic spirit were widespread in the community. He actively participated in local charities, volunteering his time and resources to support causes close to his heart. Whether it was organizing fundraising events or personally assisting those in need, Joseph's impact extended far beyond his professional and personal lives.

Joseph Gainey Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, empathy, and selflessness. He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife, Elizabeth; his children Katherine, David, and Emily; his grandchildren Gi'Niece, Gregory, and Alexis; his sister, Emily; and his wide circle of friends and colleagues.

We invite you to join us for a celebration of Joseph's life on July 10, 2023, at the Colorado Springs Community Center from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, where we will gather to share stories, offer condolences, and honor the memory of this remarkable man.

Though Joseph may have left this earthly realm, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Let us remember him for his compassionate soul, his unwavering integrity, and the immeasurable light he brought to our lives.
