On November 15, 2024 God reached down and plucked our brother Johnny Dewayne Mims from our garden of love.

Johnny was born March 13, 1964 to the late Melvin Junior Mims & Myrtle Herbert Mims in Galesburg Illinois.

He attended school at Baker High School, he was very athletic. He played football & basketball but his passion was track & field. He was a very smart individual who loved working one cars. He was our hometown mechanic who worked on everyone vehicle who asked for his help. He would always talk mess and kept everyone laughing. His favorite line was he was going to the moon. HE FINALLY REACHED HIS DESTINATION!

He is preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers Timothy Mims & Jimmy Mims, 1 niece Darnesha Mims

He leaves to forever cherish his memories 3 sisters Juanita Mims, Patricia Mims, & Amber Anderson. 4 nieces Eva Akins, T'Kayiah White, Ariel Mims, & Tacoryal White. 3 nephews Jessie Akins, Tykeal White, & Drew Mims. 1 sister-n-law Sandy Mims. Special friends Love & Joann McQueen, Chuck & Terry Thames, Rev. Clayton & Mary Williams, Karen & Keith Cook.

He also leaves a lifetime of great memories to forever be cherished by numerous cousins, other relatives, & friends.
