John Teague Sr.ODESSA, TXJohn Carl "J.C." Teague Sr., 79, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at his residence surrounded by family on Monday, September 11, 2017. He was born on May 11, 1938, in Hamlin, TX to the late John Isaac and Myrtle Evelyn Teague. J.C. proudly served as a helicopter mechanic and Sergeant in the United States Army.J. C. met Dorothy Fudge through a mutual friend who was her boyfriend at the time. He was dying from cancer and had asked J.C. to take care of her. J.C. did just that, and he married Dorothy on August 12, 1960, in Anson, TX. J. C. was discharged from the military in 1962, moving on to a 30-year career with Odessa Spring and Axle. He owned and operated AAA Lawn and Tree Service for many years. He also owned and operated Teague Tractor Service, Custom Shredding. J.C. enjoyed building custom guns and guiding javelina hunts in Big Bend. Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife of 57 years: Dorothy (Fudge) Teague of Odessa; son, John Carl Teague II and wife Shannon of Odessa; daughters, Elaine Zellner and partner Tavi Cernat of Odessa and Dana Warren and husband Ed of Floydada; brothers, Jerry Teague of Abilene, William Teague and wife Juana of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Joice Pillans and husband Neal of Rotan, TX, Loise Howard and husband Carroll of Franklin, GA and Wilma Teague of Victoria, TX; sisters-in-law, Rose Taylor and husband Bobby of Brackettville, TX, Dora Bombadier and husband Fern of Hurst, TX; brothers-in-law, James Fudge and wife Nancy of Niceville, FL and Lynn Travis Fudge and wife Mandy of Abilene; twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents: John Isaac and Myrtle Evelyn Teague; brother, Joe Teague; and his grandson, Dustin Dell Teague. The family will receive friends at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Wednesday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Funeral services with military honors will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Bethany Christian Church, officiated by Pastor Jimmy Dennis. Although flowers are appreciated, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in J.C.'s honor to the or to the Freedom House/ Dream Center of Odessa.
