On June 19, 2017, John "Johnnie" St. Leon Jr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather went to be with our Lord. John was born on July 22, 1936 to John Sr and Esther St. Leon. He was a lifelong resident of El Paso, Texas and had recently moved to Bedford, Texas. He was a devote Bowie High School Alumni where he graduated with honors in 1954. Afterwards, he attended Texas Western College and began working at White Sands Missile Range. This was his first and only job where he later retired after 35 years of dedicated service. John met his future wife Aurora at the age of 14. They later married on January 5, 1957. Together they raised four children. Besides being a proud father, grandfather and great grandfather, John was a proud Bowie, UTEP and Texas Rangers fan. Also, another hobby was singing in his church choir and being a faithful Catholic. Despite his setbacks in life John was a hard-working and persistent man. Quitting was nowhere in his vocabulary. He was tough-as-nails and always rose above any obstacle. He will forever be missed and never forgotten. John is survived by his wife Aurora St. Leon; four children John St. Leon III (wife Susie), Edward St. Leon (wife Carla), Yvonne Herrera (husband Julio), and David St. Leon (wife Marla); five grandchildren (KJ, Krystee, Faith, Dominic, Jr); and two great-grandchildren (Karlee, Khloee). He is preceded in death by his parents John Sr. and Esther St. Leon and Sister Julieta Torres. Visitation will be held June 23, 2017 from 6-10pm.
