Romundson, John S.John Severin Romundson, age 84, of the town of New Hope, Portage County, passed away Monday, November 28th, at his residence. John was born on the family farm in the Town of New Hope on October 1, 1932, a son of the late Eldora (Sasse) and Nickoli Romundson. John married Ramona Finley on June 24, 1955 in North Prairie, Wisconsin. John attended grade school at Loberg School in the town of New Hope. He graduated from Amherst High School and UW-River Falls. John was employed for 50 years for Columbia Machines Inc. as a salesman in the concrete product industry. After retirement, he enjoyed farming and was an avid collector of vintage John Deere tractors. He was a past President of Nelsonville Lutheran Church. John formed the Sun-Ski hunting club with childhood friends, who hunted together for 63 consecutive years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Moose Club in Stevens Point. He is survived by his Wife of 61 years, Ramona, Son: Donald Romundson, Daughters: Judith (Brian) Christensen and Barbara Erickson. Grandchildren; Michael, Stephanie, and Mary. Great Grandchildren: Dakota, Amanda, Mikayla and Peyton. Sister: Dorothy Hazelbaker. He was preceded in death by a Brother: William. Funeral Service will be held at Nelsonville Lutheran Church on Saturday, December 3rd at 11:00 AM with Reverend Dwight Anderson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am till the time of service. Interment will be in Nelsonville Lutheran Cemetery.
