John L. Johnny Speranza MADISON/RACINE John L. Johnny Speranza, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Johnny was born on November 23, 1939 in Madison, WI to John and Bertha (Ahrens) Speranza. He graduated from West High School in 1957. Johnny worked in the family restaurant, Johns Dairy Bar, in the Waunona Way area prior to joining the US Coast Guard, in which he served for 38 years. Johnny married his high school sweetheart, LeeAnne Brandt, in 1958. After his divorce, he had a long time loving relationship with Kathy King. He worked for International Harvester - Case New Holland, retiring after 45 years. Johnny was a member at St. Stephens Lutheran Church and volunteered at their food pantry. Johnny loved sports and continued to play softball, he especially loved his Packers, Badgers, Brewers, Bucks and was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved to travel with his family, some of his favorite places included Rainy Lake, Bonneville and Florida. His spirit lives on in those who knew and loved him. Johnny is survived by his children, Randy (DeEtte), Danny (Teresa) and Shawn (Eric) Hermansen; grandchildren, Andrew AJ, Zack, Nick, Emma and Tiffany; siblings, Irene, Joanne, Marcia, Phil, Tom and Kay. He is further survived by countless friends, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loves Lee and Kathy. A celebration of his life will be held at 11: 00 AM on Monday, September 19, 2016 at ST. STEPHENS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 5700 Pheasant Hill Road, Monona, with Pastor Kathy Gerking presiding. A visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 2418 North Sherman Avenue, Madison and again from 10:00 AM until time of service on Monday at the church. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park after the service with full military honors. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Stephens Lutheran Food Pantry.
