John Gordon WilliamsJohn Gordon Williams, 74, a resident of Ocate, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012.He was born on Sept. 12, 1938, in Maplewood, N.J. to Ernest Williams and Ethel Jones Williams.John was a member of D.A.N. and N.R.A. In 1639, his family was one of the founding families of Hartford, Conn., and Manchester, Conn. During his early years, he raced cars in Europe. John also served in the United States Air force. He was president of the KSK in Santa Fe for 15 years and helped them build a Stupa. He loved to travel, scuba dive, swim in the ocean, study, read and learn. He was a loving husband and father.He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Williams and Ethel Jones Williams; brother, Robert Williams.He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Hartshorn of the family home in Ocate; son, Kris Robbins of Albuquerque; sisters, Constance Williams Walker and Ann Williams Bell both of Connecticut; nephews and nieces, John Walker, Anthony Williams Walker, Allison Bell all of Connecticut; Richard Bell and Bruce Bell of Connecticut. Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Rogers Chapel in Las Vegas with Rev. Danny Enriquez II officiating. Eulogist will be Tod Gibson Brown.
