In loving memory of John Cecil Lucas

John Lucas of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on February 7, 2025, at the age of 62. Born on May 31, 1962, to Cecil Monroe Lucas and Clara Bessie Lucas, John lived a full and vibrant life surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife , Deedra Lucas, and their four children: Brittany Biela (spouse Paul Biela), Kimberly Green, John Lucas Jr, and Jeffery Young. Brother Danny Harkey (spouse Debra Harkey) and Sister Carolyn Long (spouse Sonny Long). John was also blessed with 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren who brought him endless joy. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jimmy Harkey and Charles Lucas, and daughter Ashley Kavanaugh.

John worked as a painter/team leader with Atlantic Group in several power plants in Arizona, Texas, North Carolina, and South Carolina. He found solace in his hobbies of fishing, bowling, and attending church. He was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family.

John will be dearly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.

John Lucas, may you rest in peace and may your spirit continue to shine bright in our hearts.
