ODESSA, TEXAS - Joe Lacy Cooney,72 of Odessa passed away on Friday, November 18, 2016 in Odessa.Family and friends will gather to celebrate his life at 2:00 PM Monday, November 21, 2016 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Larry Hood officiating. Joe was on the famous 1961 relay track team at Andrews High School, he graduated from AHS in 1963. He was an Eagle Scout, he also served in the U.S. Army with the 573rd Personnel Service Company in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Joe graduated from Texas Tech University. He enjoyed NASCAR and Texas Tech football. Joe was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by two sons, Patrick and wife Tosha Cooney and Michael Cooney all of Odessa.
