Jodi Diane (Parker) ReidRichlandJodi Diane (Parker) Reid, age 50, of Richland, Michigan, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Jodi was born on February 1, 1967 in Battle Creek, Michigan to Carl and Eugenia Parker. Jodi was a graduate of Gull Lake High School, class of 1985. Jodi taught for 25 years in the Lakeview Public Schools in Battle Creek where she touched the lives of many teachers and students. Her pride and joy were her two children, Kate and Andrew. She loved being a band parent to these two and made sure they had a life filled with faith, love and laughter. They both are a true reflection of her passionate and kind spirit. In 2012, Jodi was diagnosed with a rare form of intestinal cancer. She remained a fighter throughout, and with the support of her children, family and friends, did everything she could to try to defeat the disease. She always put others before herself, even when she was so sick. Jodi was the truest of friends to many and her passing will be felt in so many hearts and places. Jodi is survived by her mother, Eugenia Parker of Kalamazoo, Michigan, her children Katelyn and Andrew Reid of Richland, Michigan, and two brothers, Carl (Kathy) Parker of Tallahassee, Florida and Phillip (Carolyn) Parker of Wesley Chapel, Florida. Jodi was preceded in death by her father Carl Parker. Family meant everything to Jodi. She was a beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Special gratitude goes to the remarkable staff of Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo for their devoted care to Jodi, and to all the friends and family who rallied to her side. Everyone truly made Jodi feel special, just like a princess. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Radiant Church, 8157 East DE Avenue, Richland, Michigan, 49083 officiated by Pastor Jon Zondervan.
