Luescher, Joan Fields,74, of Louisville, Kentucky passed away on August 11, 2017. Joan was born on November 9, 1942 in Louisville to the late Gilbert and Edna (Wiggins) Fields. A child of World War II, she grew up in the Highlands and lived there all her life. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi where she had served as a Eucharistic Minister and Lector. A graduate of the University of Louisville Dental School in dental hygiene, Joan worked throughout her career in local dental offices and loved her patients. Most recently, she worked with Dr. Lowell Howard and his staff before she retired. Her great loves were her family and cooking. The feasts at her table were memorable. Family and friends came together to experience some of the most delicious meals made with her husband Armand, one of Louisville's finest pastry chefs. She traveled to Europe numerous times with her husband Armand to his home of Switzerland. She was very grateful to share those experiences with the love of her life. In the past 15 years, her tremendous joy was her grandchildren. She went wherever they were and loved to teach them her favorite card games. Noanie was always up for a rousing monopoly game or the challenge of a card game. Joan is survived by her husband Armand Luescher of 52 years, daughters, Kirsten (Brian), Erika (Brian), Andrea (Michael), and Alexis; grandchildren Hailey, Andrew, Thomas and Jackson. She is also survived by her sister, Shawn Fields Williams (Kevin), niece Caitlin, nephews Reilly and Ryan and dear friends Judy, Pat, Mary Glen and Clo Pat. Memorial Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1960 Bardstown Rd, Louisville, KY 40205, on Thursday, August 17th at 11am, with a visitation at 10am before the mass. Burial to follow at Cave Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Rd, on Wednesday, August 16th from 3-7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Nazareth Church Home or Crusade for Children.
