Jim Hatcher, age 85, of Tawas City died on Jan. 22, 2016 in Clermont, Fla. He was born on June 12, 1930 in Pinconning to the late Frank and Emma Hatcher (Badour). Jim married Bunny Hatcher (Adrian) in 1949 in Standish. They moved to Tawas City in 1962 where Jim worked as a switchman for Michigan Bell for 35 years until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of the Tawas Elks and Holy Family Catholic Church. Jim was an avid golfer and a building contractor. He had recorded six hole-in-ones and when Jim was 80 years old, he golfed his age. Jim is survived by his wife Bunny Hatcher; daughter, Judy (Craig) Wilkins of Columbus, Ohio; daughter, Janet (Paul) Cohen of Traverse City; son, Jim (Linda) Hatcher of DeWitt; daughter, JoAnn (Roger) Warner of Houghton Lake; son, Jeff Hatcher of Tawas City; three sisters, Lucille Beyer of East Tawas, Leona Deering of East Tawas and Audrey Rogers of Bay City; 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Trybus; and daughter-in-law, Cindy Hatcher. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 14 at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in East Tawas, MI. Condolences may be offered at www.bureshfuneralhomes.com.
