Gahvriella Sarai Baht Israel – Spiritual Name

On November 11, 1971, Jettie Kenyatta was born to the proud parents of Verly and Devoleon Taylor. She was a happy baby who loved and adored by her three brothers along with Loving
grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends, and extended family who cherished and guided her dearly. Jettie was the first Washingtonian born in the family from Ohio. Jettie was called affectionately called Yahyah, Poogie Woogie by her grandfather.

She attended school in Prince Georges County Maryland. Jettie performed poetry, sang and danced in her family group called Magic Drums founded by her mother. She attended and graduated from Suitland High School of Performing Arts. She was a member of the Milika Choir, one of
the founding members of Suitland Gospel Choir that sung at various churches and community functions.

Jettie had a sense of humor that would leave you laughing hysterically. She had a very deep
appreciation of music that covered various genres. One of her many accomplishments was singing with the Tom Newman Jazz Group. Jettie was talented and gifted in anything she put her heart and hands to. She was an exquisite cook, lover of fine dining, and a brilliant creator of sweet dainties. She gave energy and passion to the decorating committee with her local congregation at IUIC-DC and was oft requested to bake one of her special treats for various holy feast days.

Jettie loved her profession as a hairstylist. She named herself (Frenchee). She was more than a gifted stylist or participant in the art of making you look and feel your best. She helped to transform the lives of all that had the pleasure of sitting in her chair. Visiting Freenchee\'s Salon was an experience all in itself. She will be missed by her coworkers at Emmanuel Beauty Center. She developed into the master stylist from the humble start of being a shampoo girl. A beginning she did not take for granted. She excelled and often she and her mother would laugh because some of
her mother customers would want to sit in Jetties's chair. Mother Verly would say to Jettie to "take good care of them," and her mother would say to the customers, “as long as I know you
are in good hands,” and smile cause Jettie was her student.

Jettie loved and cherished so many family and friends. She worked in and traveled with the American Dental Education Association, where she served in many roles and blessed several of their events with her vocal abilities and more formally in managing administrative tasks.

In January 2018 Jettie, Poogie and Frenchee became joined in fellowship with other Israelite believers joining the local assembly of Israel United in Christ (I.U.I.C.)-DC. As she grew in the faith, she selected her spiritual name to Gahvriella (means GOD is my strength) Sarai (Angel) Israel(her heritage). After much prayer, she announced her new name to the IUIC-DC congregation on September 23, 2020-Gahvriella Sarai Baht Israel. Many family members noticed a change in her. She started studying her bible more and increased her faith in The Most High GOD of Israel. She began witnessing to everyone about the knowledge of Christ teachings through the bible and the Apocrypha.

Gahvriella withdrew from the foolishness of this world and she became serious about her service unto GOD. On the Sabbath when she was on her way to classes the last words she spoke to her mother and her aunt was, “I am on a mission for God”. She often spoke of Revelations 14:12-Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

Gahvriella leaves to cherish her Father Devoleon Taylor of Florida, Mother Verly Waller Taylor of Maryland, three brothers, Devoleon &(Dawn)Waller, Richard (Alesia) Taylor, Tim(Monteik) and brothers and sisters from their father’s side Mia and Devoleon. She leaves behind behind a great uncle and Aunt in Cleveland, Ohio, Milton and Mary McCoy, Two Uncles Ted Waller, Douglas Edward (Ingrid) Waller, and Three Aunts, Pearly Rox Waller, Sanettra Waller, Queela Waller. Many cousins, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She leaves a host of family and friends in the Israelite community that will miss her as well.
