Jesus Gonzalez PerezOxnard, CAJesus Gonzalez Perez, 89, passed away peacefully at his home in Oxnard, CA from natural causes on November 24, 2016, surrounded by family. Jesus was born on July 3, 1927 in Los Cerritos, Zacatecas, Mexico, the youngest child of Mauricio and Virginia A. Perez. Jesus was a Ventura County resident for 54 years. Jesus was preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Guadalupe Flores Perez, and children, Cruzita, Jesus and Lorenzo Perez. Jesus is survived by his children: Ricardo Perez (Olga) of Washington; Virginia (Mario) Cantaderio; Rosario "Rosie" (Carlos) Soto of Washington; Guadalupe "Lupe" Perez; Socorro (Ricardo) Segovia and Louis Perez. Jesus is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. As a young man Jesus worked many years in the agricultural industry and it was through the Bracero Program that his entire family was able to emigrate to the U.S. Jesus always expressed tremendous gratitude for the opportunities that were afforded to his family and was a law abiding civic minded person. He was employed at Conejo Valley Bowling Lanes for 25 years, as a custodian, and had an exceptional work ethic. During his retirement, Jesus remained extremely active in his community. He was a warm-hearted, caring man, whose generosity knew no limits. His charismatic personality allowed him to have friendships that spanned all ages, and he was known for his sharp, quick-witted humor.Jesus was a devoted Catholic and family man. Despite losing his mother at the tender age of 5, he had a remarkable ability to connect with everybody and had an enormous capacity for love. Jesus enjoyed gardening, listening to music, and playing cards and dominoes with his friends and neighbors. Jesus was a loving role-model to his grandchildren and great-children, who were blessed to have been around his radiant presence. There will be a visitation on Sunday, December 4, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Reardon in Oxnard. There will be a Funeral mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe at 9:30 am in Oxnard, followed by interment at Santa Clara Cemetery.
