It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jesula Nelson on July 22, 2023, at the age of 80. Jesula was born on July 15, 1943, in Jean Rabel, a vibrant community in Nord-Est, Haiti. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who touched the lives of many with her kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit.
In 1980, Jesula sacrificed herself by coming to America on a boat to pave the way for us. She’s our hero. SW Florida became her new home where she warmed so much hearts.
Jesula was a pillar of strength and resilience, known for her boundless energy and determination. She faced life's challenges with remarkable grace and a positive outlook, always inspiring those around her to do the same. Her infectious laughter and warm smile were a constant source of joy for her family and friends.
Jesula was a beacon of positivity, radiating warmth and kindness wherever she went. Her infectious laughter could brighten even the gloomiest of days, and her genuine love for life touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her sense of humor was incomparable.
Known for her incredible culinary skills, Jesula captivated us all with her mouthwatering dishes that seemed to have a sprinkle of magic. She turned every meal into a delightful experience and made sure no one ever left her table hungry or unsatisfied. She always made food enough to feed the whole community.
Jesula's love for dancing was unmatched. She would sway to the rhythm of life, allowing her spirit to soar and her heart to rejoice. Her graceful moves in church could rival even the most seasoned performers, and she effortlessly taught us all the joy of letting loose and embracing the moment.
She had a heart as big as the ocean and was always there for her family and friends, ready to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting shoulder to lean on. Jesula's unwavering support reminded us that we were never alone and that we could always count on her love and guidance. She was truly a pillar in the community
Though we mourn the loss of our beloved Jesula, let us remember her with love, laughter, and joy. In her honor, let us continue to embrace life as she did, spreading happiness and warmth to those around us.
Jesula Nelson, your light will forever shine in our hearts. Rest in peace, dear love, knowing that you enriched our lives immeasurably with your presence.

Jesula leaves behind her husband; Francoeur St. Jean, children; Ezechiel St. Jean, Claude St. Jean Obny St. Jean, Josue St. Jean, and Guerda Bornelus. She also left behind many grandchildren and nephews and nieces.
