Jesse GrubbsShreveport - Graveside services to honor the life of Mr. Jesse Grubbs, 67, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2017, at Centuries Memorial Park. The family will received guests on Sunday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home.Jesse was born on January 7, 1950, in Boydsville, AR, the youngest son of eight children born to Woodrow W. and Essie Grubbs, and passed away on October 5, 2017. He married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, and together they raised two wonderful children. Jesse was an accomplished guitarist and had played in various bands for more than twenty years. He also had been employed as Manager of Sears Dept. Store for many years. Jesse loved his flower beds and watching them bloom every year. He loved his family, his friends, his Woodlawn Knights, and his LSU Tigers (when their performance met his expectations)! He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed.Jesse is preceded in death by two brothers, Sonny and Harold Grubbs; one sister, Ruth Tucker; nephew, Avery Grubbs; and his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 45 years, Peggy; son, Shawn Grubbs; daughter, Sundena Guerra and husband Jorge; sisters, Millie Tucker and Martha Tillman; brothers, Herbert Grubbs and wife Mary Lou, and C.W. Grubbs and wife Judy; grandchildren, Jessica and Seth Guerra; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.Pallbearers are Tracy, Robbie, Jeff, Gregg, and Cory Grubbs, James Tillman, Bubba Boatner, and David Freeman.
