Jeral “Jerry Wayne “ Dixon

January 19, 1949-January 27, 2025

Jeral “Jerry Wayne” Dixon of Bogalusa, LA passed away on Monday, January 27th, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born in Columbia, MS to Tamer and G.B Dixon. He lived much of his life in Alabama and Louisiana. Jerry Wayne had a love for wood working. He crafted swings and outdoor furniture. He took on the role as Pops to many kids and grandkids.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Dixon, a sister Alice Robinson, and two brothers, GB Dixon Jr, Claude Dixon and his granddaughter Kaitlyn Hughey.

He is survived by three daughters, Samantha (Carl) Anderson, Lawanda Cupit, and Tabitha (Allen)Hughey; two sons, Danny (Christie)Dixon ; four sisters Joyce O’Quin, Debbie Crain (David), Edgie Singley(David)and Rose Hicks (Steve); one brother Larry Dixon; and numerous grandchildren, great children, nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service to celebrate Jerry’s life at Colonial Funeral Home on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 4:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00 until service time.
