Jeanne Marie O'Neill-HaysJeanne Marie O'Neill-Hays, 91, of Tallahassee passed away early Sunday morning. A viewing and rosary will be held Wednesday, August 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Bevis Funeral Home, 2710 North Monroe Street in Tallahassee. A mass to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 17 at Co-Cathedral of Saint Thomas More, 900 West Tennessee Street, Tallahassee, FL 32304. A reception will follow at The SouthWood House, 3255 Hemingway Boulevard, Tallahassee.She was born on March 27, 1926 in Fort Ogden, Florida, to the late Ila Mae Watterson and William Andrew O'Neill. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Alvin G. Hays, 11 children, 26 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. Sixty-eight years as a matriarch left her with an endless collection of hilarious anecdotes about raising kids.Her children are Adam Joseph Thielen III (Milana), Mary Denise Stevens (Quinten), John Patrick Thielen (the late Janie), Carol Anne Logan, Peter Stephen Thielen, Sr. (Robin), Timothy Adrian Thielen, Sr. (Muriel), Robert Michael Thielen, Terence O'Neill Thielen, Paul Eugene Thielen (Cathy) and James Francis Thielen, Sr. (Beth).She was preceded in death by her son William Andrew Thielen, grandson Timothy Adrian Thielen, Jr., and brothers William Gordon O'Neill and Robert David O'Neill.Jeanne was a pioneer in the field of paralegals who sought to become Certified Legal Assistants. Her career included numerous years as President of Florida Legal Assistants, Inc.
