Jean Elizabeth Purdy Lewis, 85, passed away on September 28, 2013. She was born on November 15, 1927 in Richmond, Virginia to Thomas Matthew Purdy and Virginia Erma Pusey Purdy. Jean is preceded in death by her husband, Irvin E. Lewis; daughter, Linda Lee Lewis White; and brother, Thomas M. Purdy, Jr. She is survived by her son, Irvin E. (Buddy) Lewis, Jr.; daughter, Christina Lynn Lewis and husband Mark Nelson; sister, Shirley Lee Purdy Connell; Son-in-law, Dean A. (Rusty) White; 3 grandchildren, Benjamin Matthew Lewis, Heidi Mountain Bruder and Alexander Vaughan Spears; 1 great grandchild, Sarah Bruder; nephews, Donald Connell, Jr. and David Connell; and niece, Dana Connell Wolf. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 1pm to 2pm with funeral services following at 2pm in the Family Chapel of Brookside Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park.
