ALBION — JD Moorhouse, 54, of Albion, died on Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 at his home in Albion. He was born on Jan. 4, 1962, in Columbia City to John and Melba (Starkey) Moorhouse. He was a 1980 Central Noble graduate and attended Berean Baptist Church. He enjoyed horses and was a contest rider during his formative years. He was a 10-year 4-H member. JD donated blood often to the American Red Cross and was recognized for his efforts. He was an avid John Wayne fan and movie buff. He also let everyone know that the Denver Broncos were the team to cheer for during football season, often wearing shirts with the team logo. JD is survived by his parents, John and Melba Moorhouse of Albion; a daughter, Jessica Moorhouse of Harvard, Illinois; sisters, Vicki (Thomas) Jellison of Albion, Betsy (Kevin) Marshall of Wolf Lake, Mary (Randall) Zeigler of Albion and Nora (Cale) Hoover of Greenwood; a brother, Richard (Tammy) Moorhouse of Albion; and 12 nieces and nephews. Also surviving are his animal companions, his dog Heyu, and pet turtle Fred. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Teresa Sue. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2016, at Harper Funeral Homes, Albion Chapel, 771 Trail Ridge Road, Albion, with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Doug Keenan will officiate. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial is at Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion.
