Jayna Leigh SturtzCOSHOCTON: Jayna Leigh Sturtz, age 61, of Coshocton, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, with the love and comfort of friends and family surrounding her. She was born on June 25, 1955, in Massillon, Ohio to the late Gerald Fraunfelter and Patricia (LeVere) Shutt.Jayna graduated from Coshocton High School in 1973. She was a longtime member of Park United Methodist Church, where she was instrumental in the church and started its Community Meal Program. She was an avid member of United Methodist Women and, formerly, the Red Cross and YWCA; she helped with Women of Witness and area food banks; and she volunteered her time and energy to countless other organizations. Jayna loved to read and cooked for an army.Jayna devoted her life to her family, her faith, and her community. She was the rock and foundation of her family and was at her brightest with her grandchildren by her side. In addition, as a caregiver for over 30 years, she was a "second mom" to many children throughout the area and treated each as her own. As a dear friend said of her, just like her beautiful red hair, Jayna just glowed. She is loved and will be missed by all who were blessed to call her their friend.Jayna is survived by her children: Derric (Ashley) Matz of Dresden, Megan (Michael Borkowski) Matz of Canonsburg, PA, Brandon (Erin Hackenbracht) Matz of West Lafayette, and Matthew (Elyse Mizer) Sturtz of Westerville; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Cooper Matz; her life partner of 17 years, Bill Lauvray; two sisters, Jody (Mike) Johnson and Peggy (Brent) Wyler, both of Coshocton; two brothers, Jerald "Bud" Fraunfelter and David (Amy) Shutt, both of Coshocton; and several close aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, Jayna was preceded in death by her son, Kyle Matz; her stepfather, Harold Shutt; her grandmother, Marguerite Mattern; her step-grandfather, Forrest "Red" Mattern; and former husband, David Sturtz.Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 4:00-8:00 pm at Given-Dawson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 11:00 am with Pastor Jeremy Roseberry officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
