Janine Bynum, 79 of Washington, Washington, D.C., passed on April 26, 2023. Janine was born on January 01, 1944. "Poochie" as she was affectionately known was born to the late Calvin Bynum and Hattie Jones in Washington, DC. She received her formal education through Washington, DC public schools where she excelled in her studies. Sister Bynum accepted Christ as her savior in her early years and joined First Baptist Church of Washington, DC under the Reverend Len Haywood. While attending she served on the usher's board, missionary, sung on the gospel choir and was also apart of the kitchen staff. Poochie was a faithful member until her health began to fail. Janine was employed in the District of Columbia Public School System where she taught U.S. History for thirty years. In her leisure, she enjoyed helping others, spending time with her family, watching games shows are her stories. To name a few of her favorites: Young & The Restless, Andy Griffin Show, Sanford & Son and Price Is Right. She was preceded in death by her loving father Calvin Bynum, mother Hattie Jones, beloved sister Mary Jones, and brother Victor Bynum. She leaves to cherish her memories, four children: Elvin(Joann) Bynum, Robert(Lastine) Bynum, Annie Bynum, Lenwood Bynum. Five grandchildren: Alvin Bynum, Sr, Solomon Bynum, Kelly Smith, Lawerance Bright and Janie Bynum. One sister: Eunice Jones and one brother Leroy Jones.
