Janet Deve Pittman1927-2017Janet Deve Pittman, 89, of Milton, FL passed away on December 31, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born on December 4, 1927 to Spurgeon Talmadge Watkins and Lauretta Mae West in O'Fallon, Illinois. Her parents; a daughter, Lauretta Ann Pittman; her former husband, James Henry Pittman; a cousin, Donald Blair; and her dogs, Rusty, Smoky and Pretty Boy, all preceded her in death. Survivors include her sons, to whom she was devoted and adored, Gregory Alan Pittman and John Thomas Pittman (Pat) and many nieces and nephews.She loved the St. Louis of her youth, dogs, horses and traveling, which as a military wife she got to do often. Her love of travel extended into retirement. Memorable trips late in life included a tour of Ireland, the 2011 Kentucky Derby and a 2014 Thanksgiving week in New Orleans.Visitation and a Funeral Service will be held on Sunday January 8, 2017 with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. and the service at 12:15 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home, 6539 Trammel Drive, Milton, FL followed by interment at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, FL. Reverend Clive Knights will be officiating.
