James Roy (Jim, J.R.) Greenage 67, of Franklin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2016. He was born on 10-22-48 to his beloved parents, James M. Green & Margaret Anne LaGrange Green. He graduated from Southwestern H.S. (1967), Hanover College (1971), and I.U. School of Law-Indianapolis Magna Cum Laude (1974). He married the love of his life, Tamara (Tammy) Dunlevy Green, on 4-24-71. J.R. practiced law from 1974-2014, serving as counsel at the IN Attorney General's Office and as a private practice attorney, retiring from the law firm of Wilson Green & Cecere. Jim and Tammy welcomed their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth, into this world in 1982, and was a proud father of her ever since. He was a member of the N.R.A., Phi Gamma Delta, Hanover Alumni Association, Indiana State and Johnson County Bar Associations, Hanover Presbyterian Church, Hopewell Presbyterian Church, Kiwanis Club, and attended Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed calling loved ones, reading the Bible, hunting, fishing, hiking, and target shooting. He had a deep faith in God, an unbreakable devotion to his family, and a passion for history and America's natural wonders.He leaves his devoted wife, Tamara (Tammy) Dunlevy Green, beautiful daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Green, best friend and sister, Janet Anne Green Washburn, brother-in-law, Steven J. Washburn, sister and brother-in-law, Melinda Dunlevy & David Martin, father and mother-in-law, Ralph & Alta Dunlevy, Uncle Boone & Aunt Wilma LaGrange, Aunt Evelyn & Uncle Ed Hunter, nieces, Jennifer Anne Washburn Gast (Andy) & Heather Elizabeth Washburn, nephew, Matthew James Washburn, many cousins who loved him dearly, and his faithful dog, Annie. He joins his parents and grandparents in interment.Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Fri. (9/30) at Friendship Baptist Church, 1600 Westview Dr., Franklin, IN 46131. A funeral service will be at 4 p.m. on Sat. (10/1) with family receiving friends from 3-4 p.m. at Friendship Baptist Church. A graveside service will be at 12 p.m. on Mon.
