James "Jay" Ray Jackson James "Jay" Ray Jackson, age 60 of Akron, Ohio, died on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 8 p.m. at Akron General Medical Center. He was born on February 6, 1956 in Akron, the son of the late Donna Kay Shay Jackson and Carroll Betts.He was currently working as a grinder at Ken-Tool in Akron. He loved fishing and playing pool with his son, Michael. He enjoyed playing jokes on his son, Jay, and going to his son's, James, baseball games and encouraging the team. The team loved how loud he was and everyone loved it, especially him. He enjoyed spending time relaxing in his favorite chair watching John Wayne movies. He loved the Browns, Indians, and Cavs; taking long rides to the Amish Country; but most of all he loved his family and we all loved him. Till We Meet Again-We Will Miss You!!!Survivors include his wife, the former Marjorie Greer Kridler, whom he married on August 2, 1991; his children, James, Jay (Crystal) and Michael Jackson, John (Tabby) Kridler, and David (Michelle) Kridler; 14 grandchildren; two sisters, Carrollyn (Bob) Anderson, and Dreema Jackson; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 North Canton Road, Akron. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 5 - 7 p.m. James will be laid to rest in Hillside Memorial Park, Akron.
