James McDade, Sr.AGE: 74 • Hightstown, formerly of Haddon TownshipJames McDade Sr., 74, resident of Hightstown, New Jersey, formerly of Haddon Township, New Jersey passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5th. Jim was born on April 24, 1942 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Francis and Myrtle McDade (Nee Riddle), and was predeceased by his parents and his sister Kathy. Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara McDade (Nee Goldey); two sons, James McDade Jr. and Keith McDade; daughter in law Wendy McDade (Nee Mitchell); and two grandsons, William McDade and Andrew McDade.Jim grew up in Philadelphia and graduated from Northeast Catholic High School in 1960. He played goalie for the Lighthouse Blues Soccer Team. He met his wife Barbara while they were both working in technology: he delivered telegraphs while she delivered telegrams. Jim pursued his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at LaSalle College in the evenings while working at his day job and becoming a father to two boys. He became a Certified Public Accountant and a Tax Partner at Touche Ross & Co; subsequently teaching at LaSalle College. Jim was an active member in both the New Jersey Society of CPAs and the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. He later went on to partner with friend Bill Phillips to establish and build Phillips McDade,an HVAC business, where he spent the back nine of his career.Jim was active in the Cosmopolitan Club, a South Jersey philanthropic organization, and was a board member of the Ronald McDonald House in Camden, NJ. Jim was a passionate Philadelphia sports fan, an avid golfer and an enthusiastic member of Tavistock Country Club.Family and friends are invited to the Visitation on Thursday February 9, 2017 from 9:30 to 11:00 AM at St. Vincent Pallotti Church, 901 Hopkins Rd. Haddon Twp. NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM.
