James Matthew LansingOf Des Moines, IowaJames Lansing, age 51, passed away on February 8, 2017. He was born on May 22, 1965.James graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended Drake University. He remained a life-long Des Moines resident and worked for Nationwide. James loved to volunteer at Camp Hertko Hollow, a camp for diabetic children. He was very social and loved surrounding himself around friends and family, especially his nieces and nephew. Those left to cherish his memory include his partner of 30 years, Joe Reynolds; mother, Barbara Lansing; brother, Tom (Lisa) Lansing; nieces and nephew, Melinda (Josh), Tommy (Ramolaa), and Amanda; and many friends and extended family.James was preceded in death by his father, Guy "Paul" Lansing.Visitation will be held at 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18, 2017, at Hamilton's Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Memorials may be directed to Camp Hertko Hollow in memory of James.
