He died on September 27, 2017, at home, in Ventura, California. He was husband to Clydie Spradling Wright originally of Loyalton, CA. They were married for 61 years. Originally a backpacker, he matured from a tent, to a tent trailer, to a VW to a "Sportsmobile." Always a walker, he and Clydie participated in Volksmarch and sought out walks everywhere they travelled which they did extensively throughout the US and beyond. In retirement, Jim spent hours crafting beautiful pieces of furniture that he designed andfashioned out of hardwoods, which he gave to family and friends.
