James K. OBrien, 90, of Mashpee, MA, formerly of Framingham, Ma passed away on December 13, 2016 after a long illness. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 64 years Marcella OBrien. James was born on November 5, 1926 in Roxbury, MA. He was raised in Cape Breton Nova Scotia and was the second of five children of Elsie and James OBrien. In Crenignish, Nova Scotia, after his mother died when he was 11 years old, he ran the family farm while his father traveled for work. At 19 he enlisted in the Canadian Army, later taking residence in Framingham, Ma. He worked at the Dennison Manufacturing Co. until his retirement in 1985 later mov- ing to Mashpee, MA. In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Deborah Forrest and husband Robert of Onset, James J. OBrien and wife Celina of North Carolina, Legene ODell and husband David of Bourne, Hilaurie Mauro and her husband Michael of Mashpee, his brother Donald OBrien of Ontario, Canada, 13 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Rita Jones of Ontario, Canada, Florence Phillipo of Nova Scotia, and his brother Kenneth OBrien of Ontario, Canada. A visitation will be held at the Chapman Cole and Gleason Funeral Home 74 Algonquin Ave. (Rte 151) Mashpee, on Friday December 16, 2016 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church 3 Jobs Fishing Rd. Mashpee on Saturday December 17, 2016 at 10:00am. Burial will be held privately in St. Patricks Cemetery in Natick.
