Murray, James J. "Jim"James J. "Jim" Murray, age 86, of Sheboygan, passed away to the loving arms of our Lord on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family. Jim was born on May 4, 1930. A son to the late Raymond and Theresa (Novak) Murray. He graduated from Central High School in 1949. Jim served in the U.S. Army based in Korea. He was proud to serve. On September 17, 1955 Jim was united in marriage to Lorraine Mitchell, at St Peter Claver Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2012. He was employed by the City of Sheboygan Water Utility for 34 years as the "water man". Jim took tremendous pride in raising his family and was the best husband, dad, grandpa and great grandpa. He loved the holidays, and special celebrations with family and friends. Jim was an active member at St. Peter Claver teaching CCD, serving with special friends on the liturgical planning committee and with the writing of the very first parish council by laws. He was a member of the Standard Oaks fellowship club helping to organize many picnics and parties. Many happy times were shared with "The Spiders", a hunting group of his brothers and friends. He is survived by his 3 children, Michael (Karen) Murray, Theresa "Terri" (John) Weber, Mary (Gary) Grunewald all of Sheboygan area. Eight adored grandchildren Matthew, Andrew, Adam (Meghan) Murray, Holly (Dan) Hampeys, Sara (Steven) and Austin Weber, Joshua (Amanda) and Jared Grunewald. Three great grandchildren, James, Kiersten, Emma , and baby expected great-granddaughter in 2017. He is further survived by his siblings Barbara (Dave) Adams, best friend and brother Thomas "Tommy" (Jan) Murray, Kathleen (Leroy) Rau, Linda (Al) Senkbeil, sister-in-law, Eloise Murray, brother in law Horst Felter, and numerous other cherished family and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine, his parents, sisters, Patsy Felter, his twin sister Joan (Robert) Van Der Sande, brother Joey Murray, and many other family members who welcomed him home to Paradise.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 21, 2016 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1439 S. 12th Street St., Sheboygan with Rev. Paul Fliss officiating. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.Online condolences may be expressed at
