James Jay Braniff1930-2016To know James Jay Braniff was to love him. JJ passed away on August 31, 2016 as a result of Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. JJ was born on May 13th, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He was a resident of Richmond, Texas and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.JJ will be reunited with his parents, six of his siblings, his beloved wife Patsy and his beloved son Rick.He leaves behind his best friends, his family. Mary Jo and Ken Michener, Chris and Rick Forcier, Mike and Stacy Braniff, Jayme and Mike Barnett, Martin Braniff, David Braniff, as well as grandchildren, Dan, Diana, Andy and Clara Braniff, Nicole and John White, Meagan Barnett, Emalee and Natalee Braniff and great grandchildren, Weston and Kinley White. He also leaves behind his two sisters, Nancy Reilly and Helen Boylen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.We feel lucky to have been so loved by JJ, because his love was unconditional, never ending and genuine.He will be especially remembered for his JJ'isms and his story telling, and oh boy, did he have some stories to tell! We could listen to his stories over and over again.Visitation for our JJ will be on September 2, 2016 from 1:00 until service time at 2:00 p.m., at the Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home Chapel, in Rosenberg Texas. JJ will be laid to rest in St. Leo the Great Catholic Cemetery in Centerville, Texas, minutes away from the Braniff Ranch, which he loved so much.He is at peace now, but for those of us who love him, his passing leaves a deep emptiness in our hearts.We would like to thank Andrea Brown for her loving care of JJ over the last several months.
