James “Jim” Mitchell was born on May 01, 1961, to the late James E. Mitchell and Bettie J. Mitchell in Greensboro, North Carolina. He departed this life on May 29, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center.

His early years of education were in the Forsyth county public school system.

Everyone who knew James knew he was a kindhearted person. He loved family and wanted to always hang out with family. He loved a delicious home cooked meal (Neck bones with mac and cheese to be exact). He was a sports fanatic to say the least. He loved the Baltimore Orioles and Maryland Terrapins no doubt, but his favorite team was the Baltimore Ravens. He was a diehard Ravens fan bleeding purpley and black. He adorned those colors from head to toe any chance he could!

He leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Bettie J. Mitchell; One Som, Raymond Mitchell, Two Daughters; Raina Mitchell and Kenya Mitchell, Daughter in law; Jessica Mitchell, and 7 Grand children, Close Cousins; Lamar Grady and Lefar Mitchell and a host of friends.

James will be remembered for his kind heart, infectious laughter He will be missed by all.
