James Merritt, born on February 17, 1929, in Langtry, Texas, passed away on February 14, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Celia R. Merritt, whom he married in 1968. They shared 53 loving years of marriage.

James was a proud veteran who served in the Army Air Corps. He was a hard working man with many skills. He had a passion for fixing things, flying airplanes, building things, and working on cars.

James is survived by his three daughters: Lilly Griffin, Celia Hernandez, and Lourdes Luna, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

On February 14, 2025, James Merritt peacefully passed away from old age, surrounded by loved ones in Killeen, Texas. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
