James Leroy Cross was born on February 1, 1940, in Flint, Michigan and passed away on January 25, 2025. He was born to Leonard and Emma Ecker Cross and raised by Charles and Emma Ecker Cross. He is survived by his loving wife Annette Pritchard Cross, whom he married in 1959, and their four children: Stephan (partner Bernice), Charles (spouse the late Jeni), David, and Michael (spouse Amy).
Jim leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren. Nathan, Justin, Michael (Spike), Jerry, Weston, Madison and Anna. And three great-grandchildren James, Jacob and Arden.
He studied at Flint Central High School and graduated in 1958. Following his education, he embarked on a successful career at General Motors Flint Metal Fabricating Plant, where he eventually retired in 2002.
Jim was not only dedicated to his work but also to his community. He was actively involved in the Gaines Township Volunteer Fire Department organization, where he volunteered his time and expertise to help those in need.
Jim will be remembered for his kindness, hard work, and commitment to his family and community. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service is being planned by his family for a later date. Those who loved Jim will be informed of those arrangements.
