James Braggs, 64, of Lyerly, Georgia, passed on March 10, 2023. James was born on April 12, 1958, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended Chattooga County Schools and later joined Pond Spring AME Zion Church as a youth and served as a faithful member. David worked for Burlington Mill for twenty-five years, and later retired from Mohawk after ten years. James D. Braggs was a volunteer firefighter for the Holland Fire Department for over twenty years.

James D. Braggs leaves to cherish his memory, his devoted wife of twenty-seven years, Latrice H Braggs, Lyerly, GA. His sister, Glory Daniels, (Rome, GA), other sisters and brothers, 3 daughters, Lindsay D Braggs, (Nashville, TN), and , Monique Braggs (Nashville, TN) . Harper Barber ( Nashville Tennessee) Also, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
