A Life Well Lived

Jacqueline Davies, 59, of Kankakee, Illinois, passed on April 13, 2023. Jacqueline was born on October 11, 1963.

Loved always by husband Timothy who could be heard telling Mom that she was the prettiest girl he ever knew with the most beautiful deep brown eyes.

A heart of gold stopped beating and the ripples softly flow – endless in the lessons left behind.  Mom’s life was about family and holding onto her memory are Children Janet and Richard. Nana celebrated the birth of 2 grandchildren; Nana loved nothing more than holding the sweet babies in her arms and hearing of their lives. Mom commented often how grateful she was for the good health of our family.

We would be amiss not to mention Crosby, Nana’s fur pal.

Waiting at heavens gate for Jacqueline will be a host of family and friends – greeting her with loving arms.

Born at the family homestead in Frankfort as a tiny but mighty spirit she enjoyed country life, with

fond memories of picking berries and making sweet jam as a child.

As a petite young girl, Jackie moved to Kankakee at age 15 where she excelled in subjects such as English and Math.

Timothy and Jacqueline married on July 8th, 1997. Celebrating 33 years of marriage this past July, they loved and cared for each other in their home until Mom’s passing. The dance steps had a few more shuffles but the love as strong as ever.

As a military family we traveled the country. Timothy and Jackie made friends and memories where life took us. Daughter and Son were born in Hamburg, Germany.  In 1968 we returned to our roots in Illinois settling in Kankakee.  Timothy and Jackie weren’t quite finished with their gypsy souls as they relocated to Shenandoah Valley, Virginia and immersed in the community.

Mom and Dad travelled extensively from camping in the Rockies; Riding Mountain; Caribbean Cruises; Bemidji and Duluth; touring the East Coast and special times in Gimli but were equally happy with family celebrations in the yard.

Nana was the epitome of love. She was known to shower everyone (and everything) with supreme tenderness and care, whether you were family, or she had just met you. She had a way of making all things feel special - those surrounding her, the animals and birds who called her yard home…well maybe not the squirrels… And let us not to forget the holidays… Christmas spirit poured out of Nana unapologetically.  When we think of Nana, we see her in her garden. She was sunshine in human form, so it is no wonder why her plants and flowers were always thriving brightly. She encompassed all beings with unconditional love - one of her countless qualities to be admired. Nana has left her fingerprints on all things beautiful. We will be reminded of her through the blooming of flowers, the feeling of a warm summer breeze and the comfort of a big bear hug. She was the best Nana you could ask for, and we were lucky enough to have her as ours.

Mom’s ‘Couldn’t ask for better’ will forever ring in our ears.

We will be forever grateful for the care and kindness provided by the Riverside Medical Center team of doctors, nurses, care workers – especially during these most difficult times.

You can to the family or in memory of Jacqueline Davies.
